Nedra C. Berkley is a Family and Consumer Science Teacher at Thornton Township High School. Nedra has a Bachelor of Science degree from Michigan State University and a Master’s degree in Social Work from the University of Illinois at Chicago. She has spent the last 25 years working in Social Services within the private and public sectors. Nedra’s professional work history has afforded her the experience to work with children, youth, and families from various socio-economic, cultural, ethnic, educational, and other diversified backgrounds. Her career experiences have given her the ability to be able to work effectively independently as well with other team members.
Her ability to utilize community resources and provide educational resources to those in need has been an essential part of her career. Thinking outside the box in order to meet any unique needs that may arise unexpectedly requires an immediate reassessment and prompt action to execute. Being able to think quickly is a part of the advanced skills that Nedra possesses. Nedra offers commitment, enthusiasm, organization, and professionalism: qualities that are necessary for providing leadership and promoting a positive work environment.
Nedra is a powerful force in the workplace and uses her positive attitude and tireless energy to encourage others to work hard and succeed. Nedra is inspired daily by her husband Dr. Robert Foster and their two daughters. In her free time, Nedra likes to sew, work in her garden, spend time with family and friends, and visit United States historical landmarks.
